Bride

People always told me, "when you're not looking, you'll find him"...a statement I never thought would be the case for me.  But as it turns out, that's exactly how Keith and I came together.

Keith and I met through mutual friends about 5 years back when I was living in the Twin Cities.   It was really busy time in both our lives, so the thought of dating each other was definitely not on the radar for either of us.  In fact, after first meeting, and him calling me "Erd" (the shortened version of "Lizard"), I could honestly say my first impressions of him were not awesome, and could be summed up in one word, GOOBER! haha

Fast forward 3 years.  I was now living in Nashville and Keith was in the Twin Cities.  It was July, 2011 when I flew back to MN to attend my friends wedding reception and ended up reuniting with Keith.  We talked for a majority of the night and the connection began.  It wasn't long after our reuniting that I invited him up to my cabin the next weekend with a few of my other friends, where he didn't hesitate to accept.

After an amazing weekend at the cabin, I went home and told my mom, "I think I found the one!"  As cheesy and cliche as it sounds, it was the truth, but there was just one issue, I lived in TN and Keith was in MN.  We promised to keep in contact from afar, but after hearing horror stories from other couples in long-distance relationships, I was definitely hesitant, but decided to give it a whirl.

After a very expensive year of long distance dating, we decided enough was enough, it was time for us to  pack up my stuff, jump in a Uhaul and head home to MN, where we were engaged within 5 months.  And here and we are today as happy as ever!  I guess when you know, you know!

I never understood the saying, "parting makes the heart grow fonder" but after a year of long-distance dating, I can certainly say that saying has taken on a whole new meaning for us!

They always say lobsters mate for life, and no matter how much distance is  between them, they always find their way back to one another.  So I guess you could say...I've found my lobster. :)
